“Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:15-17
Gratitude Journal - March 22, 2021 Today, I am grateful for the green plants poking up through the ground after a long, cold winter. Seeing things go from stark and cold to green and warm is my favorite indicator of seasonal change. It also signifies a sort of renewal that is both physical and spiritual. For this, I am grateful.
““Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”” Matthew 22:36-40

Gratitude Journal - March 17, 2021 Today, I am grateful for owning a reliable vehicle to get around. For many years I drove cars that I serviced myself, fixing what I could and keeping them on the road. While this saved us lots of money, it was also nerve-racking and challenging at times when things would go wrong. Given this, I enjoy having a truck that is reliable and relatively new. For this, I am grateful.

Gratitude Journal - March 14, 2021 Today, I am grateful that I have the skills, opportunity, and drive to help others when they need help the most. I’ve spent most of my adult life as a firefighter and EMT, and as such, I’ve seen my fair share of tragedy and pain. Last night was no different. However, I always try to leave these scenes happy that I was there, ready, and able to help. For this, I am grateful.
